It will be part of Apple's iOS 11, a new version of the operating software for Apple mobile devices that is scheduled to be released this fall. The aptly-named Files app lets you view and organise files on your iPad and in your cloud storage accounts. And with iOS 11, Apple also unveiled a bevy of iPad-specific features for multitasking, app switching, dragging-and-dropping, and on-screen keyboard tricks. These all take a backseat role to Apple's headline announcement though, the launch of augmented reality on the iPhone and iPad. Here's everything we know about iOS 11 so far. That often maligned but widely used artificial intelligence assistant is also getting an upgrade, though for HomePod, Siri's main task is clear: play music. Siri gets the ability to translate speech, the voice gets more neutral for both genders, the interface becomes more visual, and a whole lot more. The company says that user data will be synced across all devices with end-to-end encryption. And finally, videos in "Memories" now also play in Portrait mode.
It now has improved image quality, improved low light performance, optical image stabilization, True Tone flash, HDR and Depth API.
Developers were also wowed with the new ArKit.
If someone does text you while you're driving, the phone can respond with an automatic message telling them you're driving and can't respond just now. Apple determines you're driving using a Bluetooth connection or Wi-Fi Doppler, and automatically activates this feature.
As CNet points out, this also means that Apple's HomeKit software now has its own standalone device, meaning that it could attract Android users and others who previously did not want to use Siri through an iPhone or iPad. If you receive money through iMessage it will straight go to Apple Pay Cash card.
In an effort to support real-time synchronization of messages between several Mac and IOS devices, Apple is now bringing iMessages to its iCloud platform.
Maps- Maps now have enhanced information about the place. Stock apps across the OS have been updated and refined, including indoor maps in Maps and curated news feeds in News. You will be able to make and share public playlists with your friends, too, in the form of Shared Up Next playlists.
For the first time since its introduction in 2007, the App Store has now been optimized with a card-based design and tabs that transform the layout into more of a basic newsfeed than anything else.
Software updates are also in store, with iOS at the fore.
Apple is trying to make augmented reality a reality with new tools for iPhones and iPads.
The developer toolkit leverages iOS devices' built-in cameras, processors and motion sensors to overlay digital images onto the physical world. It finds planes, scale estimation, ambiance around. The company described it as the biggest iPad update ever developed and the start of the biggest AR platform in the world.
