Kingdom Hearts 3 Director Hints at Second Playable Character

Sora, Donald and Goofy become "toy-ified" for their adventures with Woody and Buzz, complete with a plastic veneer and stiff square joints. Pixar employee Tasha Sounart, who worked on Toy Story 2, helped develop the Kingdom Hearts' characters toy looks. It has been given a release date, finally; although it remains quite ambiguous at this moment.

The director of "Kingdom Hearts 3" has now made comments about a possible Switch port alongside Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game. Kingdom Hearts 3 isn't now slated for release until 2018, so no matter what you're playing it on, you've still got awhile to wait before you can get your hands on it. "#Kingdom Hearts Iii" makes its way to the game lineup for the PlayStation 4 console next year.

Nomura also said that Kingdom Hearts 3 will allow players to bring more than two companion characters into battle with them, a pleasant side effect of moving onto newer hardware.

"First and foremost, each keyblade will have its own form that it can transform into, and it's different per keyblade", Nomura told Game Informer during a recent interview with the director.

The Disney Pixar film is confirmed to be one of the destinations Sora and his friends will visit in the much anticipated main entry in the series.

But while fans are no doubt excited by what they see in the video, it lacks what they probably want to see most of all: an exact release date for the game. Certain timing and resource-related challenges within Square Enix also played a role.

"We're still trying to finalize the specifications, but that being said, it is subject to change, so it might evolve into something even more impressive", he said. So we will want to focus on releasing on the platforms that we have already announced.

Speaking of Xbox support, Tetsuya Nomura caught up with IGN to discuss the possibility of Kingdom Hearts I and II HD hitting Xbox One, which is available now on PS4 as a HD collection. Fans will also be able to take to the world of Tangled in the game.
