LeBron James Will Not Waive His No-Trade Clause

Cleveland was smart to give its best player that much time with the ball, but it didn't totally maximize Irving's game.

But Irving reportedly doesn't want to be James' sidekick anymore, and now Cleveland is facing a conundrum, especially with James himself potentially one year from free agency.

The last three seasons might be misleading, because Irving wasn't asked to be a playmaker, but mostly a scorer, which he did quite well.

Amidst all the drama surrounding point guard Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers have held ongoing discussions with free agent Derrick Rose.

Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns "have been doing their part to recruit Irving on the idea of playing alongside them in Minnesota, and they have made it known to Wolves management that they want to add the Cavs star to the mix", according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. Most expect to see Kyrie Irving in a Cavaliers jersey next season, but with the new office management in Cleveland, anything is possible.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving (2) reacts after making a three-point basket May 23, 2017. That trend extended into the playoffs, as the Cavaliers were outscored by 30 points in the postseason and by 24 points in the Finals against the Warriors when Irving was on the court and James was not. National Basketball Association fans (and maybe front-office types) rushed to the ESPN Trade Machine and sent Irving all over the league in hypothetical deals. Teaming up with All-Star Kyrie Irving, Rose does not need to perform under the pressure of controlling an offense. He averaged 25.2 points per game last season while playing somewhat of a second fiddle. Bledsoe is a capable outside shooter and playmaker, but his value with the Cavs would start at the defensive end, especially if the Cavs sets a date with the Golden State Warriors for the National Basketball Association title next season. I'm not going to accuse LeBron of such a thing, I don't know that to be true at all, but I know that's what Kyrie Irving believes.

Kyrie Irving could be leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers soon if the team relents on his request as rumors say.

Times have changed and the new age Rockets are on a collision course to be the best "Super Team" ever.
