U.S. says it hopes to prevent new war in Syria

Trump has shown no interest in standing up to Russia around the world, and now, and administration that owes its victory to Putin refuses to counter Russian propaganda.

Russia's intent to expel 755 US diplomats and seizure of two USA properties in Russian Federation has put relations between the two countries "under considerable stress", said Tillerson at a Tuesday press conference at the State Department.

China does account for 90 per cent of economic activity with North Korea, Tillerson said, adding that the Chinese have been very clear with the United States that they share the same objective of a denuclearised Korean Peninsula.

After officials filed an "action memo" for the money - a routine document requesting a decision from the secretary of state - Tillerson's aides reportedly replied that he "didn't like being told what to do".

She added that Tillerson's travel reaffirmed the commitment of the U.S. to further broaden and enhance its economic and security interests in the Asia-Pacific region.

But President Donald Trump's top diplomat says he's comfortable in his job and in his relationship with the commander in chief.

Tillerson added that the United States hopes that "at some point", North Korea will understand and sit down for a dialogue.

He said the creation of a de-escalation zone in the southwest part of Syria, created by Russian Federation, the United States and Jordan was "one small measure of success". However, the recent Chinese-Russian "double freezing" initiative - suggesting that North Korea stops its ballistic missile and nuclear activities while the U.S. and its allies halt war games in the region - has been rejected by Washington.

"Thats why early on we identified it as a very urgent matter, and the North Koreans have certainly proven the urgency of that to us", he said.

Speaking about the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the US Secretary of State called for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, saying that this issue was directly related to easing and eventually lifting the sanctions against Moscow. Speaking last month at an annual security forum in the Aspen, Colorado, CIA Director Mike Pompeo said "it would be a great thing to denuclearize the peninsula, to get those weapons off of that, but the thing that is most unsafe about it is the character who holds the control over them today". After traveling to Manila for the summit, Tillerson will head to Thailand and to Malaysia for brief stops in which North Korea concerns are likely to be a prime focus as well.

"We don't think having a dialogue where the North Koreans come to the table assuming they're going to maintain their nuclear weapons is productive", he warned. So thats really the objective, ? he said.

"We see all types of evidence that this is a real and serious nuclear program and missile program". "We (Americans) always treat North Korea like it's some kind of joke".
