Reckless Trump Threatens North Korea With Fiery Annihilation

The Washington Post first reported that the nation had such capability, based on a Defense Intelligence Agency assessment read to the newspaper it verified with two us officials.

"A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons", Clinton warned the United States in a tweet barely a year ago.

When the conditions are right, the two sides can sit and discuss the future of North Korea "so that they feel secure and prosper economically", he told reporters in Manila earlier Monday.

"Today's news makes clear that much more than these sanctions is required to protect US interests, said Jay Lefkowitz, a former USA special envoy on human rights in North Korea".

The statement called the sanctions, which include prohibitions on North Korean exports of coal, iron and seafood, "a flagrant infringement upon its sovereignty". So that's why they were so important to this resolution.

North Korea loaded two Stormpetrel anti-ship cruise missiles on a Wonsan guided-missile patrol boat at Toejo Dong on North Korea's east coast. It has long accused the United States and South Korea of escalating tensions by conducting military drills.

The Post said a separate intelligence assessment concluded the North has built up to 60 nuclear warheads, a number far larger than independent experts' estimates. Pyongyang responded to the Security Council vote with its usual defiance, and in this case I'd be inclined to take it at its word. "There is no more time to stick our heads in the sand and think we have months or years to confront this challenge".

Sixty-two percent of Americans were found to support the use of US troops if North Korea invaded South Korea - the first time since 1990 a majority favored supporting South Korea in this way - with a considerable support among Republicans (70 percent), Democrats (59 percent) and independents (61 percent).

However, the survey found that a preemptive attack against North Korea's nuclear program does not have wide support. The United States (and others) may be able to slow that development, but that's about it.

Since taking office, Trump has increasingly spoken out against leaks of sensitive information by members of his administration, some of it damaging to the president himself.
