Meghan Trainor objects to image use for Australian anti-marriage equality ad

If it shows support for changing Australia's Marriage Act, it is expected that a vote in Parliament will follow.

CELEBRITIES from Kylie to Stephen Fry and Chris Hemsworth have joined forces to push for gay marriage in Australia - after Meghan Trainor expressed anger that her image was "illegally" used by the other side.

Cyrus, who is engaged to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, described Australians as "some of the most beautifully free spirited and open minded people I've ever gotten the chance to meet".

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said: "Whilst it is expected that almost all eligible people in Australia will be able to participate using the postal service, the ABS will implement a number of strategies to ensure all eligible Australians have the opportunity to respond to the survey". The Melbourne-based sex worker is looking to be married, especially as a civil union "we do not have as many rights as those in a heterosexual marriage".

"I recently wrote to you advising that the Australian Electoral Commission meant to update your enrolment to the address below based on information received from another government agency", the letter dated August 16 reads.

Officially it's called the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey, and you only have till tomorrow, Thursday 24 August* to register or update your details to participate.

'The more informed people are, the more likely they are to vote'.

The decision to hold a postal vote came after plans for a national plebiscite were blocked by the Senate previous year. The results of the survey itself will not guarantee marriage equality in Australia. "People are constantly saying, "I can't believe you don't allow gay marriage" and all I can do is agree".
