Honor 7x vs. Honor 6x vs. Honor 9i - How do they differ?

Wednesday, 06 Dec, 2017

IANS had earlier reported that aiming to take on OnePlus 5T, Huawei's sub-brand Honor is to bring its bezel-less V10 smartphone with an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled chipset - the first from Honor - to India in January. It will get updated to Android 8.0 Oreo, though no specific launch date for that update has been mentioned just yet. As we have already made few articles about this topic, now we know the most important thing, that is the pricing. It also has 8 megapixels front camera. The Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto G5S Plus sport a 5.5-inch display. The phone comes in 4 GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB internal storage. The Honor 6x has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, while the Honor 9i and 7x have a larger 5.9-inch display with the 2160 x 1080 pixels Full HD+ resolution and the aspect ratio of 18:9.

The Honor View 10 has a front-mounted fingerprint scanner even with its 18:9 display.

Slimmer than the iPhone 8 Plus by 2.7mm, the Honor 7X incorporates a 3340 mAh battery which Honor claims can last 22 days in standby mode and 12 hours in video playback mode.

Unlike the Huawei Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro, which have glass backs, the Honor View 10 has a metal unibody. Combined with a powerful octal-core Kirin 659 and graphics processing unit (GPU), the Honor 7X provides a clarity and user experience at a competitive price. The global price of the Honor 7X is 299 Euros.

Honor is making a big focus on budget devices at present and it looks like the Honor 7X might end up being the favourite budget phone of the year.

Other AI based features on the Honor View 10 include an AI-accelerated translator and Smart Tips, apart from intelligent scene and object recognition, as well as motion detection that will adjust camera settings. Powering the AI smartphone is a 3,750 mAh battery that comes with Honor's SuperCharge technology for fast charging. Honor calls its camera setup (which consists of multiple sensors not visible externally) as the Point Cloud Depth Camera. In the demo, we also got to see the camera used to animate cartoon characters from facial mapping in 3D. The phone boasts dual SIM functionality as well, with the capability to maintain LTE signals in both trays, though if you use a microSD card, you'll have to forgo that second SIM card. Granted, EMUI 8.0 is a lot better than previous iterations, but the changes it makes to stock Android don't always make a lot of sense.
