Ryan Seacrest happy that Mariah Carey returning for New Year's Eve performance

Monday, 01 Jan, 2018

Last year Mariah was left humiliated when she was hit with multiple technical difficulties and accused of miming her set but she is looking forward to redeeming herself this year and co-hosts Ryan and Jenny want her to do well. "So I think that I'm just grateful that people still tune in".

As the holiday season winds down, there is nothing more memorable and traditional than Dick Clark's classic New Years Rockin' Eve!

"One of the most exciting news stories about New Year's Eve is giving Mariah Carey that second chance that I think everybody deserves", McCarthy says.

"I think as an actor, it would be the ultimate challenge and the ultimate commitment, and I've heard nothing but unbelievable things from actors I know that are in plays", she said.

Seacrest added that the timing for the NY lineup - which includes the reunited Sugarland, Camila Cabello, and Nick Jonas - couldn't be better, as all three have big years ahead of them.

Jenny McCarthy, who will be cohosting Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2018, shared an Instagram video from the show's super chilly rehearsal on Saturday, December 30.

"The timing is really flawless. It's just been downhill since then", said one other. "Makes for an unbelievable night". The "We Belong Together" singer is pretty famous for flubbing the performance past year - or at least that is the perception of some people. Over the years, the program has included popular musical performers. "Ciara is awesome. So talented".

'Festive even in single digits, ' she wrote, referencing the freezing NY temperature. "We are excited to have that performance". The action starts at 8:00 p.m. EST and goes on past New Year's Eve with an end time of 2:13 a.m. Mariah Carey will be returning to perform this year in Times Square along with Nick Jonas, Camila Cabello, and Sugarland.

You may remember that she headlined the festivities last New Year's and she stopped singing multiple times throughout her set of songs.
