Well, this will be the headline on 22nd February when the Xiaomi puts its 55 inch smart LED TV - Mi TV 4 - on sale. Xiaomi's range of Mi televisions has been well-received in its home market, China, and has been a popular product request in India since its launch. With the new processor and the all new optics, can this Redmi phone actually eat into the sales of more expensive phones like the OnePlus 5T?

Beautify is Xiaomi's image reinforcing software and the latest iteration is optimised for India specific users.

India's leading smartphone brand Xiaomi launched its first major non-smartphone product, the Mi TV 4, in India yesterday. It is a mid-budget phone that comes with 6GB RAM. It also has 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which would be handy if you want to plug in a pen drive and then copy a movie or two to play on the Mi TV 4.

The phone is priced at INR 13,999 for 4GB RAM, 64GB storage variant and INR 16,999 for 6GB RAM, 64GB storage variant. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, same as its predecessor. Based on Artifical Intelligence technology, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is capable of identifying facial features and offers several thousands of enhancements including shaping & toning, optimization for group shots, and perpetuation of bindi and bears. It uses eight custom Kryo 260 CPU cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz and include the new Adreno 509 GPU for graphics processing.

Basically, the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 smartphone is a redesigned version of the Redmi 5 Plus smartphone. The device is 20-35 per cent more power efficient than its competition as it sports LPDDR4X RAM, the company claimed. The standard Redmi Note 5 is essentially the Redmi Note 4 repackaged in a new bottle. The corners on the device also come with a slight curve to them, something which has not been seen on the earlier Redmi devices. Both smartphones has a fingerprint sensor. The offer provides a cashback of Rs. 2,200 to Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro users along with double data benefits.

With a 5.99-inch 18:9 display that takes up nearly the entire front surface, Redmi 5 Plus provides a much larger viewing area compared with traditional 16:9 screen displays. It offers rich quality photos within the front facing camera. These are black, lake blue, gold, and rose gold colors.

Redmi Note 5 Pro has the portrait mode for both rear and front camera while OnePlus 5 has this feature for the back camera only.

The camera setup on this device is an interesting one. This handset arrived featuring a 5.50-inch touchscreen display and it has a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. The Redmi Note 5 packs a 12MP primary sensor at the rear with a f/2.2 aperture teaming up with a 5MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture and it is a bokeh camera (depth of field lens). On the front, there is a 5 MP camera with LED selfie light for low-light selfies. The phone comes with face unlock feature too.
