Michigan University Shooting: 2 Dead in Mt

Central Michigan University said a suspect was at large and police advised people in the area to take shelter. There are reports that additional people have been shot and wounded, although details were not immediately confirmed.

The suspect reportedly fled on foot and police say he is considered "armed and unsafe".

The College of Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences at the school urged people on Twitter to avoid Campbell Hall.

The campus and much of the surrounding city of Mount Pleasant remains on lockdown. Police said he was wearing a dark hoodie at the time of the alleged shooting.

The shooting happened on the eve of spring break.

A MI college urged students to avoid a building on campus Friday morning after receiving a report of shots fired.

CMU says anyone coming to pick up students for break should stay off campus until further notice.

Police warned the public not to a confront a 19-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting two people on Friday at a Central Michigan University residence hall, saying he is considered unsafe and likely still in the area.

Caleb Kleiman, who described himself as a close friend of Davis' said the two met through a mutual friend during their freshman year at CMU.

A student shot this cell phone video as police frantically searched for the suspected gunman.

The victims were not students and police believe the shooting started as a "domestic situation".

Michigan State Police have choppers, canine crews, and Emergency Support Team resources on the scene.

CMU school officials confirmed the reports of a shooting at 9:30 a.m. ET Friday.

CMU is a university of about 25,000 students, located in mid-Michigan. He's considered armed and risky. "If you see something suspicious, call 911", it wrote.
