Browns continue busy day with Randall-Kizer swap

The sales pitch is suddenly enticing.

While Kizer was part of the Browns' 0-16 season, he was thrown into a very hard situation.

Sure, money talks, yet they watched players take less to work elsewhere even before last season, when they became just the second team in National Football League history to go 0-16.

After all, players know players.

Considering how thin the Green Bay Packers already were at cornerback, first-year general manager Brian Gutekunst must really be convinced he can upgrade the position through free agency and the draft - and must really feel the team needed more competition behind star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Landry reacted to his trade by tweeting out: "Y'all better understand [expletive] about to get SERIOUS..."

Essentially, the Browns' face-lifting Friday doesn't clear up any of draft uncertainty ahead of the Giants, making it no more or less likely that Barkley will slip to No. 2. We will see on April 26 whether the Browns made the right decision in drafting a quarterback or take Saquon Barkley instead. The trade won't be announced until Wednesday. However, contracts can not be executed until free agency officially kicks off at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 14.

Thomas, 33, was selected by Cleveland with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.

Smith will earn $5 million this season so the move saves the Super Bowl champion Eagles much-needed space under the salary cap. Taylor never had an arsenal like this in Buffalo so imagine what he will do with actual weapons?

Browns GM John Dorsey has had an eventful weekend. The Packers also expect Quinten Rollins, a second-round pick in 2015, to come back from Achilles surgery and also have former undrafted free agents Lenzy Pipkins and Josh Hawkins.

Re-signing Terrelle Pryor is a possibility. Getting anything in return for Taylor before his bonus is due, let alone a third-round pick, is a major win for Beane and company. With that said, the addition of Taylor may actually entice some free agents.

It was the Browns turn to say, "Go Danny!"

Cornerback and free safety remain huge needs, even with Randall on board. Cleveland went 0-16 last season and is an embarrassing 4-44 in the past three seasons. "Our structure and our coaching staff, we need to make sure we maximize that, but we also need to learn from the other parts of the offense that we didn't do as good as we would have liked, and we'll learn from that platform". The Chiefs'Ron Parker, who'll reportedly be released, was in Kansas City during Dorsey's entire tenure there. The teams also swapped picks in the fourth and fifth rounds, meaning the Packers moved to the top of those rounds.
