Conor McGregor Responds In Typical Fashion To Tony Ferguson's Injury

According to ESPN, Dana White has said that Ferguson will lose his interim title as a result, meaning the victor of Holloway vs Nurmagomedov will be the new champion. How would Max make it to 155 on just six days notice? "That's a tough weight cut for him", White said. "I think about maybe [Dustin] Poirier, [Eddie] Alvarez, maybe [Michael] Chiesa or [Paul] Felder or [Al] Iaquinta or [Anthony] Pettis, because these guys fight with me on same night". Title contender Khabib Nurmagomedov arrives in New York City for his long-awaited championship fight against Tony Ferguson.

But if the UFC featherweight champion pulls off what oddsmakers deem as highly improbable this weekend, Holloway may already have plans to one up McGregor - who is the last fighter to beat him.

Featherweight champion Max Holloway will fight Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title in Brooklyn on Saturday. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow. Happy Easter to everyone out there, I believe there is a silver lining in this nightmare of reality, because this ain't an Aprils Fools.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is officially a cursed fight. This marks the fourth time that the promotion made this fight official. He said he's staying ready but he's no where to be found.

The Irishman has not fought in UFC since November 2016 and White played down suggestions that his return was imminent.

Secondly, both Khabib and Holloway have a common enemy in Conor McGregor, the current lightweight title holder. "The guy hasn't lost a fight since 2013, and that was a decision to Conor McGregor".

According to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani, the UFC may finally be making its return to Calgary. So when Ferguson, who has since been stripped of his interim title, pulled out due to injury, Holloway wanted to make up for his wrong by saving the card.

Ferguson and Nurmagomedov were originally set to face each other at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale in December 2015, but a rib injury to the Russian forced him out of the contest.

White said after the event that he was embarrassed and promised to one day make it up to the fans of Calgary.
