Trump refunded €108K hush money his lawyer gave porn star stormy

Michael Avenatti, a lawyer for Daniels, told CNN's "New Day" on Thursday that he was "speechless" and "stunned" after hearing Giuliani's revelation about the reimbursement.

Is anyone surprised? Not really.

On Monday, Daniels filed a defamation suit against Trump in response to a tweet in which he called her story of being threatened on his behalf a "total con job".

But by Thursday afternoon, when Giuliani undertook his second interview with BuzzFeed News in just over 14 hours, it was clear that Trump's new outside lawyer in the Russian Federation investigation had taken on a much larger role - helping to manage Trump's image as well as his legal standing.

"Mr Cohen, an attorney, received a monthly retainer".

US President Donald Trump has finally admitted adult film star Stormy Daniels was paid with hush money that had belonged to him.

Cohen was dismayed to hear Trump marginalize his role during an interview last week with "Fox & Friends" and interpreted a recent negative National Enquirer cover story as a warning shot from a publication that has always been cozy with Trump, said the person who was not authorized to talk about private conversations and spoke only on condition of anonymity.

"We're seeing the unraveling of a corrupt regime by the force and power of the law, and the people who are the handmaidens of the law", he said.

And then Giuliani added the clincher: "and the president repaid it".

Giuliani, a former New York City mayor and ex-U.S. attorney who joined Trump's legal team last month, said the president had repaid Cohen over several months, indicating the payments continued through at least the presidential transition, if not into his presidency.

On Thursday afternoon, Giuliani said that he and Trump had decided Wednesday afternoon to reveal that Trump had repaid Cohen for the $130,000 payment Cohen facilitated to Stormy Daniels in 2016.

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman Miss Lewinsky".

Acosta: "Why can't you just answer yes or no whether you were in the dark".

Thursday was not one of White House press secretary Sarah Sanders' best days.

Clinton's early denials and his battle to keep the secret severely disrupted his presidency and sidetracked many of his planned policies.

Stormy Daniels' attorney, Michael Avenatti, says if the revelations from Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani are true about the $130,000 payment to Daniel, then "that's a crime".

A full 43 percent of top positions have seen turnover.

Clifford signed the hush agreement days before the November 2016 presidential election, which Trump won.

Feds, wiretaps, Trump's attorney, scandal...

He went on to say, "If you have to speak off the cuff, you're going to say, 'well, I did it from here, I did it from there.' Now we have the records, we can see exactly what it was".

And therein is the problem.

Yet Trump, by acknowledging he paid the money, is raising new political questions about his honesty and new legal questions about his own failure to comply with federal law and disclose the payments either on campaign finance filings or his personal financial disclosures. If the money could be construed as a loan from Trump, it would still have to be reported but would not be subject to any limits, Hasen said.

Hasen, however, noted that, "Calling it a retainer means nothing".
