Russian Federation calls for restraint from Iran, Israel after missile strikes

On Thursday, Israel accused Iran of firing rockets from Syria into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, the first time that Iran has attacked Israel with rockets.

Russian Federation and Iran have been allies in the Syrian war, defending President Bashar Assad.

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was also quick to call for restraint. "We have to work to ease the tension".

As Iran is Russia's principal ally keeping Assad in power, Moscow is very carefully tracking Israel's every move.

The dramatic escalation here was the attack by Iran.

That deployment "is an unacceptable and highly unsafe development for the entire Middle East", she said.

"We hope we can, but there are a lot of things playing a role in this", she said. Iran's research and development on ballistic missiles was not even a factor in the deal and thus continued unhindered and unrestricted by it. "If you're a subscriber to Ezekiel 38 and 39, you begin to put together some possible outcomes here as things develop", says Maginnis.

Israel and Iran have been at odds for years.

Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman said the Iranian rockets either fell short of their targets - military bases in the Golan - or were intercepted.

"Whoever hits us will get hit seven times over". "We expect Russia's understanding and support when it comes to our vital interests". However, some of them managed to hit the air defence battalions, radars, and an ammo depot.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Israeli forces conducted what was the largest attack on Syrian territory since the official end of the Yom Kippur War in 1974.

At the start his meeting with Putin, Netanyahu remarked on the commemoration of the Soviet Union's victory against Nazi Germany and compared the threat that Israel faces from Iran today.

Iran sponsors a range of Shiite militias in Iraq and has deep ties to the country's economy and political system. "This is the policy, a very, very clear policy, and we're acting according to this policy", he said.

After the talks with Putin, Netanyahu indicated that Russian Federation will likely not impede Israel's actions in Syria. It was reported that the Quds Force carried out the attack on Israel.

Weapons storage, logistic sites and intelligence centers used by Iran's elite Quds Force in Syria were targeted in Israel's response, the Israeli Defense Forces, or IDF, says.

"Russia wants to appear important and to appear as a neutral peacemaker".

"If there is rain on our side, there will be a flood on their side", Lieberman said at a conference in near Tel Aviv.

He quoted the British official as saying that the US-French-British strikes in April were a response to the regime's use of chemical weapons, and were not a means of interference with the military equations between Damascus and the opposition.

Both Le Maire and Germany's finance minister Olaf Scholz had spoken to their USA counterpart Steven Mnuchin, urging him to consider exemptions or delays for companies already present in the country.
