Vivo just rolled out the NEX flagship phone in China. It's another reason why the top bezel is reduced. It may look like a prop from a sci-fi movie, but it's a real phone that you'll be able to buy soon (or at least import from China). To further reduce the bezels, NEX adopts Vivo's 3rd generation In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology that has improved in both accuracy and speed, following its successes with the X20UD and X21. You know, the whole nine yards.
Talking about the price, Vivo NEX might cost around CNY 6,998 (around Rs 73,000). This replaces the earpiece and it should provide good sound quality when making calls. The Vivo NEX does not feature a notch screen, because of which it manages to produce a screen-to-body ratio of 91.24 percent. The display of the Vivo NEX produces FHD+ resolution of 2316 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.3:9. Screen density is a relatively low 338 ppi, but thanks to the large screen, it shouldn't be a huge issue.
Vivo has managed to achieve a stunning 91 percent screen-to-body ratio with the Nex, squeezing a massive 6.59-inch screen into the nearly bezel-less body. Because of nearly no bezels, the smartphone has a pop-up camera that works as the front camera. The rear camera supports AI features such as AI portrait shots and AI scene detection. It definitely reminds us of how the Xiaomi Mi Mix influenced the industry when it was released in late 2016. With Jovi, users can now access apps and features with their voice.
In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the Vivo NEX? The Snapdragon 710 SoC variant phone will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner while the flagship variant will have an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The under-display fingerprint scanner works great, if not perfectly, on the Vivo X21. To talk about the identical features of the Vivo NEX and NEX Ultimate, we will be referring them as Vivo NEX in the rest of the article. The Vivo Nex S comes with either 128GB or 256GB of inbuilt storage. This new tech turns the screen into a speaker.
The world's first bezel-less smartphone has arrived, and it comes from Chinese manufacturer VIVO. A 4,000mAh keeps the hardware humming along. There's no microSD card slot inside the smartphone. Vivo is basically saying that the module won't break should the phone take a tumble when it is activated. The dual-lens camera on the back has a 12-megapixel, f/1.8 aperture lens, and a secondary 5-megapixel f/2/4 aperture lens. It's the OEM's very own smart assistant that lets you call out voice commands. The device comes with in-house Jovi AI assistant and there is also a dedicated button to trigger it.
The Vivo NEX phones were launched in Diamond Black and Red color options. It is not clear whether Jovi will be introduced in worldwide markets also. We'll update this post as more details surface. The answer is a pop-selfie camera which pops out from the top when you are clicking selfies.
