On Tuesday, police said an eighth suspect had been arrested in connection with the case.

Trinitarios, the gang that allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack, said Guzman-Feliz was not their intended target, and they'd mistaken him for someone else they'd planned a hit on, according to the New York Post.

The suspects grabbed the teen, who went by the name "Junior", and dragged him along the ground out of the store before fatally stabbing him, the video shows. National Basketball Association star Carmelo Anthony and his wife, actress Lala Anthony, visited Guzman-Feliz's mother, Leandra Feliz, in her Bronx apartment and stopped by the teen's vigil set up outside the bodega where he was killed.

Six other suspects were apprehended in New Jersey and are scheduled to be arraigned in the Bronx Wednesday. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was ordered held without bail by Judge Mary Bejarano. Five men of various ages stabbed the teen repeatedly with machetes with the attack caught on video, according to the New York Daily News.

Guzman-Feliz's murder has gained widespread attention on social media.

"When you look at where he was assaulted and the proximity of the hospital, it explains the nature of the wounds - that he expired so quickly", said NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea.

The suspects arrested in NJ are Jose Muniz, 21, of Paterson, NJ; Joniki Martinez, 24, of Freeport, NY; and Jose Taverez, 21; Manuel Rivera, 18; Danel Fernandez, 21; and Santiago Rodriguez, 24, all of the Bronx, NY.

Lesandro's mother, Leandra Feliz, wore a white T-shirt adorned with her son's face and was met with cheers of "Junior!" Take it outside!' Before the killers get in, my son was hiding inside the store. "These Bronx streets are ruthless".

"I need justice for my son", he said.

A few days ago, Bronx native Cardi posted about the murder, expressing outrage at the ways police officers target people of color and contribute to their deaths but don't do enough to help them when necessary. He played Fortnight. He played 2K, like every 15-year-old. Another video clip shows him stumbling back inside the deli after the attack, bleeding, and a man behind the counter apparently ordering him out.

A GoFundMe has been started for the teen's family that has so far raised more than $30,000. They are now in the process of being extradited back to New York City. He was charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, gang assault and assault, the paper reported.
