Rodney Marsh and Karl Henry react to Wolves display against Manchester City

Manchester City dropped their first points of the season following a 1-1 draw at Premier League new-boys Wolves in Saturday's early kickoff.

Wolves broke the deadlock from the resulting corner though, with Joao Moutinho's cross brushing Matt Docherty's head and Willy Boly managed to direct it past Ederson into the City net, though replays showed that he in fact handled it in.

Southampton, who have won just once at home in the Premier League this year, also had midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg sent off for two yellow card offences. We created enough chances to win the game but it doesn't count and we drew the game 1-1 and I don't have too many regrets.

Manchester City's Leroy Sane was the subject of much debate this summer after his global manager Joachim Löw left him out of his 23-man Germany squad for the World Cup and he looked a player lacking in confidence when appearing from the bench in his side's disappointing effort during a 1-1 draw at Molineaux this afternoon. "Wolves deserve credit, of course".

"If I say I admire the way [they play], I'm saying maybe the other ones I don't like it or I'm criticising them", Guardiola told a news conference.

If Manchester City played and exploited defences as they did against Huddersfield, the score could be a lot more than what we have predicted.

"We knew it from the beginning how tough it would be in the Carabao Cup when (we played them) and it went to penalties. The Premier League will decide when they decide that VAR will be here".

That effort came from a break that followed a disallowed goal for Wolves, who had Raul Jimenez flagged offside after he had tapped home a cross-shot by Diogo Jota. Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva have already been on target for the Citizens.

Perhaps more tellingly, Guardiola has seen fit to make the Frenchman move out of his city centre apartment and into a place on the outskirts of Manchester.

Hopefully after the worldwide break we'll be better'.

Wolves are yet to win this term having drawn 2-2 with Everton and lost 2-0 at Leicester - facing 10 men both times. "We played in the shape and style we believe in". Every manager can do what they want with their teams.
