Throughout her time as Princess of Wales, Diana wore it often, so much so that it became one of the most recognizable tiaras of the British royal family.Kate Middleton has continued its prominence.

Kate wore the glittering diamond and pearl tiara at the Buckingham Palace state dinner on Tuesday night with an Alexander McQueen gown.

As a special thank you for her service, the Queen presented Kate with the royal family order.

Meghan Markle hasn't yet had the honour, but given she only joined the royal family in May, we'd say her time is yet to come. It is also reported that Queen Elizabeth II is delighted with this news, because she has four children.

Kate wore the tiara a year ago, along with a stunning ruby and diamond choker necklace.

The Queen has a vast collection of jewels in the royal vaults, passed down to her from the Queen Mother and her grandmother Queen Mary.

A royal source said: "It (the visit) was cut slightly short due to the large number of people within the market, which made the event uncomfortably busy".

They also visited Westminster Abbey and attended a reception at the Palace of Westminster before the state banquet.

Prior to the market incident, the Duchess delivered her first speech of the tour during a visit with her husband to the University of the South Pacific.

Kate, 36, was accompanied by Prince William, 36, during tonight's lavish state dinner held in honor of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on their official 16-day Autumn tour visiting cities in Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan were busy at another fancy banquet - in Fiji.

But it was her jewellery that was the talk of the evening.
