Kristoff St. John, a soap-opera actor who played character Neil Winters for 28 years on Young & the Restless, has died.

According to TMZ, Kristoff St. John, who plays Neal Winters, was found unresponsive inside his home by a friend.

TMZ reports they're told foul play isn't suspected and that alcohol may have been involved.

Mia St. John, who created the El Sabor es Poder (Knowledge is Power) Foundation to raise awareness about mental illness in honor of their son, reportedly reacted to the actor's death in a since-deleted tweet. She got to geek out and ask every question she had and she and I both properly fan-girled over the gift of this lovely man. Kristoff made that moment happen.

His attorney Mark Geragos confirmed the news to Variety. Around the third anniversary of Julian's death in 2017, St. John was hospitalized and placed under a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation after allegedly threatening to kill himself.

In real life, St. John had some drama that could have rivaled a soap opera.

"I am truly heart broken right now, this man was my TV Dad for over 25 years", someone else wrote. If you ever feel like hurting yourself, there is help out there.

"I watched it the first time, I'll never watch it again", he said. "He was just GOOD".
