New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft charged with soliciting prostitution, police say

Saturday, 23 Feb, 2019

Kraft took ownership of the Patriots in January 1994.

The charges were made as part of an eight-month investigation into human trafficking that included surveillance in five spas and shutting down 10 in a case prosecutors say has links to China and NY.

Kraft was not immediately arrested.

Hidden cameras were set up in the spa, Sharp said, and a warrant was issued for the arrests of the men on the list who do not live within the state or the county.

Detective Andrew Sharp didn't say how much Kraft had allegedly spent but said the spa where the alleged acts took place had an entrance fee, and its fees started at $59.

He said Kraft was driven to the day spa both times.

The NFL said it is "aware of the ongoing law enforcement matter and will continue to monitor developments".

Comedian Nick Jack Pappas referenced Kraft's six Super Bowl rings and his one 'prostitution ring'.

The Orchids of Asia Day Spa was among 10 businesses that were shuttered in the Orlando area, Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.

Last month, President Donald Trump proclaimed January as a month to abolish human trafficking around the world. In 2011, Kraft's wife, Myra, died after a battle with cancer.

Before this incident, Kraft had been dating Ricki Noel Lander, who you might remember from this bonkers video of Kraft and Lander doing script reads while she wears a bikini for some reason.

'Well it's very sad. "But I was very surprised to see it".

A spokesman for Kraft released a statement saying: "We categorically deny that Mr. Kraft engaged in any illegal activity".

"I'm a business person, and the thought of why so many men?' did cross my mind".

Vero Beach police Chief David Currey, whose agency has been involved in the sex-trafficking investigation, told reporters earlier this week that the prostitutes are victims who have been trapped into the trade.

Police have not arrested Kraft and have not had any contact with him yet, they said.

"We've learned more about what these victims go through. they have nowhere to go". When Patriots owner Billy Sullivan declared bankruptcy in 1988, Kraft purchased the stadium in an auction for $22 million. The 2007 Spygate scandal also resulted in league discipline after the NFL determined the Patriots were videotaping opponents's signals outside league rules. Belichick was fined $500,000, the most an National Football League coach ever was fined. In 2014, Brady was accused of delating game footballs to gain a better grip. Whether that works into a longer suspension and a deeper fine (the more likely scenario) or the league demanding that Kraft relinquish control of the team (less likely), a different paradigm would be in order here.

Kraft was not implicated in either scandal.
