Chris Hemsworth to play wrestling legend Hulk Hogan in biopic

He's perhaps best known for his role as the Norse superhero Thor, but now Chris Hemsworth will reportedly be channeling his inner "Suburban Commando" to play Hulk Hogan in an upcoming Netflix biopic.

On the producing lineup will be Michael Sugar, Todd Phillips, Bradley Cooper, Chris Hemsworth and Eric Biscoff.

It looks likely to follow fellow biopics Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (Ted Bundy) and The Dirt (Motley Crue) onto Netflix, with the deal being worked on now. I'm not very familiar with wrestling or Hogan himself personally, but Hemsworth definitely seems capable of doing justice to the hammier side of wrestling.

However, much in the same vein as the Queen biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody", the Hogan biopic will focus on the origin story of Hulkamania - and not delve into the less palatable aspects of Bollea's life. Since then, he acted in many movies, but most notably in Marvel's Cinematic Universe. He became a 12-time WWE Champion and a six-time WCW champion over a career spanning four decades.

The deal, which took months to put together, will include life rights with Bollea acting as a consultant on the movie as well as executive producer...
