The phone has a 4.6-inch smartphone screen which opens up to a 7.3-inch AMOLED Infinity Flex display.
From what I've seen so far, I do feel like the Mate X has a far better design than its Samsung rival.
When the phone is folded the "front" has a 6.6 inch display. And the exterior 4.6-inch display looks kind of ridiculous from the outside, with its obscenely large bezels and downsized UI elements to fit everything in that tiny space.

Mate X can meet the user demand for larger screen size for work or entertainment on both screens. After trying it out, we can now say it does look pretty good but most importantly it won't make you regret buying one of the bigger brothers.
It's hard to convey just how cool-looking the Mate X is. The comparisons between Samsung and Huawei phones do not cease there.
Samsung Fold does not fold flat, and leaves a small gap there.
The hinge itself - dubbed, the Falcon Wing design - took three years to ideal and contains more than 100 components, so it's certainly one helluva complicated fold.
Thickness is another talking point for gadget lovers with regard to foldable screen phones. When folded, It becomes a dual display phone - one side is a 6.6-inch (2480 x 1148) 19.5:9 display while the other is a 6.38-inch (2480 x 892) 25:9 display.
Huawei has worked on the hinge of the Mate X for over three years and calls it the Falcon Wing design. This setup is found on a vertical bar on the back of the phone where the power button, LED flash, USB Type-C port, and fingerprint reader are also found.
Samsung Fold and Huawei Mate X adopted different folding technology in their products. The internal screen can open and shut like a book.
The most cost-effective model of the Mate X goes for $2,600, together with taxes.
Huawei's first foldable phone is extremely thin, which is great to see. Take a piece of paper and fold it.
No doubt spurred by the recent launch of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, Oppo VP Brian Shen posted pictures of the as-yet-unnamed device on Weibo. It's barely March and we already have a third contender on the scene with Huawei's unveiling of the Mate X.
The grip bar is also an ergonomic way to, well, firmly grip the Mate X with one hand.
