Ok, so they might not show unbelievable battle sequences or Daenerys bellowing "dracarys" from Drogon's back, but they do hint that episode 2 is all about prepping for the oncoming battle between the White Walkers and those who are camped out at Winterfell. However, the biggest takeaway from the first episode was the final sequence with Jaime Lannister entering enemy grounds and coming face-to-face with one Bran Stark.

Bran spends the majority of the season eight opener - titled Winterfell - waiting for "an old friend" in the courtyard. He revealed that in order to prepare for this scene he had to break it down in two parts.

Game of Thrones will air on Sky Atlantic at 2am each Monday morning and again at 9pm GMT the following evening.

Elsewhere, Jon recently reflected on his friendship with Emilia Clarke (plays Daenerys Targaryen). But more than three times that number stole the show.

The Season 8 premiere is no exception to this: the opening credits have some nice new detailing, we get the return of the crossbow that killed Tyrion, and there are many other details besides that might've gone unnoticed. The good news is that we only have to wait until next Sunday.
