Sanders defends herself over Mueller report revelation

Monday, MSNBC's "Morning Joe" hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski urged fellow members of the media to quit putting White House staff members like Sarah Sanders, Kellyanne Conway and Rudy Giuliani on television because they "repeatedly lie".

The revelation was made Thursday after the release of the redacted version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report into Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election.

After the release of special counsel Robert Mueller's report, which said Sanders had invented her account of "countless" Federal Bureau of Investigation agents approving of Trump's firing of Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey in 2017, Ryan said the White House spokeswoman had lost all credibility.

GLAAD later followed up with another tweet attacking Sanders, noting that she defended Trump's call for a complete ban on transgender service members by alleging that military leaders supported the president's call for a ban.

Then-deputy press secretary Sarah Sanders during the White House briefing on May 10, 2017.

"I think it just once again proves why this journalist isn't taken seriously", she said.

Mueller's report concluded there was not enough evidence to charge Trump with collusion, but was undecided on obstruction.

But she repeated the assertion the following day, using the same word, even when pressed by a reporter for details. "But the President had made a decision to fire Comey before the White House solicited those recommendations". This is not what happens when someone makes a "slip of the tongue", like calling a friend by the wrong name or swearing when you shouldn't. She hasn't quite admitted lying; she's still lying about her lie. "The position shouldn't be held by someone who lies to the press". "If specific individuals were discussed, they would have been those known to the Committee, the White House, and the media". "And the people, the American people can't trust her".

In a footnote, the report states that the White House counsel's office was briefed by Burr, a North Carolina Republican, on the "existence of 4-5 targets, '" citing notes from former deputy White House Counsel Annie Donaldson. No reputable news outlet should host her.

But Sanders knows as well as anyone that she will never face consequences for anything she's ever done - or will ever do.

The report included multiple examples of Trump's current and former press secretaries making false claims to journalists, particularly in the days after Comey's firing.

To that end, however, the White House has not yet floated proposals for those issues that could get out of the Democratic-controlled House. She has been caught red-handed lying to the press and the American people.
