White House Lawyer: Mueller report written like law school paper, very political

Barr was supposed to appear before the committee Thursday after spending several hours testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday on special counsel Robert Mueller's Trump-Russia report. However, Barr did say that if "the chairman has a good explanation of why" grand jury secrecy law, known as 6 (e), "does not apply and his need for the information, I'm willing to listen".

Barr leaves his house in McLean, Va., on Thursday, the day he declined to show up for a House committee hearing. So they'll find him in contempt.

But if Sanders was hoping for Nadler would back down, it wasn't happening. Days after the memo was released, Mueller wrote a letter to Barr explaining that although he did not disagree with the summary conclusions, he felt the memo lacked context surrounding the findings laid out in the report.

But Ms Pelosi said the Trump administration was continuing to ignore congressional subpoenas and noted Congress launched impeachment proceedings against president Richard Nixon in the 1970s after he resisted similar demands. She also said Mueller's report was brought up - but only briefly and not in the context of Trump warning Putin to call off Internet hackers who, Mueller and the US intelligence community say, interfered in the 2016 election with the goal of supporting Trump.
