Barr was supposed to appear before the committee Thursday after spending several hours testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday on special counsel Robert Mueller's Trump-Russia report. However, Barr did say that if "the chairman has a good explanation of why" grand jury secrecy law, known as 6 (e), "does not apply and his need for the information, I'm willing to listen".
Barr leaves his house in McLean, Va., on Thursday, the day he declined to show up for a House committee hearing. So they'll find him in contempt.
But if Sanders was hoping for Nadler would back down, it wasn't happening. Days after the memo was released, Mueller wrote a letter to Barr explaining that although he did not disagree with the summary conclusions, he felt the memo lacked context surrounding the findings laid out in the report.

But Ms Pelosi said the Trump administration was continuing to ignore congressional subpoenas and noted Congress launched impeachment proceedings against president Richard Nixon in the 1970s after he resisted similar demands. "The public servants there and in similar offices around the country deserve an attorney general who shares their abiding commitment to the rule of law, demonstrates strength and independence, speaks truth to power and represents no one person, but all Americans".
