Google Launches $399 Pixel Smartphone with Best in Class Camera

The trend has been pretty mixed as Apple removed the jack for no apparent reason and every other company followed suit including Google, with its Pixel devices. With the use of AR, the search giant noted that Google Maps could more accurately direct people to the correct street or road so that users can reach their destinations faster.

Google announced it is introducing augmented reality features to the Google Maps application on Pixel smartphones. No Android OEM has yet announced any intention to offer the next-generation Assistant, and Google has not disclosed any names either.

Specifically, if you buy an unlocked Pixel 3a you can pick up a $100 gift card, essentially bringing the price of the devices down to $299 and $379, respectively.

The Google Pixel 3a (5.6-inch display) is priced at Rs 39,999 while the 3a XL costs at Rs 44,999.

The new phones, which have 4GB of memory and storage of 64GB, are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 670 processor, Google said.

The Google Assistant will get shrunk down so that it can work directly on a phone, eliminating the need to communicate with Google's cloud servers to understand and act on certain commands. Furthermore, Google Assistant's Call Screen provides you with information about the caller before you answer the phone. We've uncovered no significant differences between these implementations of USB-C and/or Bluetooth yet - we shall see!
