Kyrie Irving played Game 5 as if he had already left Celtics

Brogdon was second on the team in field goal percentage (50.5) in 2018-19 and led Milwaukee with a 42.6 three-point percentage.

The Bucks starting point guard has been rather quiet in this series outside of a strong Game 2 performance. At the buzzer, Irving bounced onto the court and hugged several Bucks players, including Antetokounmpo.

The top-seeded Bucks now advance to the Eastern finals, where they will have the home-court advantage over the victor of the other Eastern semifinal between Toronto and Philadelphia.

Giannis Antetokounmpo did a little bit of everything with 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals. But they'll have Malcolm Brogdon back for the first time since March 15, albeit on a minutes restriction off the bench.

Though he has a game-high 13 points, Kyrie Irving's shooting woes continue as he is 5-for-13 (31.3%) from the field.

The only surprise was that he didn't tear off his jersey when the game ended, the flawless I'm-outta-here visual, a la South Beach-bound James in 2010 after the Celtics eliminated his Cavaliers. He did finished with six rebounds and 10 assists.

If a Game 6 is needed, it would be played Friday in Boston. He demanded a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers, as he wanted to lead his own team- and when the Celtics came calling and acquired him in a blockbuster deal, they couldn't have imagined he'd lay such an egg when it mattered most.

Stevens was probably the best coach in the National Basketball Association during the 2017-18 season, leading the Celtics to the conference finals despite losing Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. Eric Bledsoe was 11-years-old. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 39 points with 16 rebounds on 15 of 22 shooting. Milwaukee entered this season still feeling at least a year, maybe more, away.

In the wake of the Boston Celtics seeing their disappointing season end with a 116-91 obliteration at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 of this Eastern Conference semifinal, Boston coach Brad Stevens pointed to one man as the reason for his team's failures: himself. While it's far too early to tell, their regular-season dominance coupled with their response to being blown out in Game 1 of this series certainly would suggest that more special things could be on the horizon for this group.
