Blazers force Game 7 with 119-108 victory over Nuggets

Here are the top takeaways from Portland's thrilling Game 6 win over the Nuggets on Thursday night.

Denver did not get anything from their reserves as Portland's bench outscored Denver's 42-13 by the time the game had ended.

So circle the calendar for Sunday's Game 7, game time still TBD, pending the outcome of Friday's Game 6 of the other Western semifinal between the Warriors, sans Kevin Durant, and Rockets.

Durant, averaging a league-best 34.2 points in the playoffs, was removed in the third quarter of Golden State's 104-99 home victory on Wednesday over Houston.

Jimmy Butler posted 25 points and six rebounds, and Joel Embiid had 17 points and 12 rebounds as the 76ers survived to fight another day with a 112-101 win over the Toronto Raptors in Game 6.

CJ McCollum added 30 points for the Blazers, who haven't advanced to the conference finals since the 2000 playoffs. Can the Nuggets continue to make the Blazers' sharpshooters struggle from the field while killing Portland on the pick-and-roll with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray? "Now we go home and have the best home-court advantage in the National Basketball Association".

Barton, Curry, Torrey Craig and Zach Collins all received technical fouls (two sets of double technicals) for the incident.

Lillard hit an off-balance jumper that put Portland up 106-93. He commits costly fouls that send Portland's shooters to the line, he gets beat for rebounds and he brings down this team when it tries to score. After getting out to a 2-1 lead early on in their series against the Denver Nuggets, they dropped the last two.

Game Seven will be in Denver on Sunday. Denver now has the opportunity to eliminate the Blazers on Portland's home floor on Thursday night.

"He's capable of scoring 50 in Game 6 and we're well aware of that", Denver coach Michael Malone said. We saw what happened when Collins took the court tonight and it needs to happen more regularly in Game 7.

Going into the break, the Trail Blazers led by four, 58-54.

Lillard put the Blazers ahead to stay with a three-pointer with 4 minutes, 18 seconds remaining in the third period.

It was Hood, who averaged 3.2 points per game in Blazers' first round series against Oklahoma City, who Lillard called the "most consistent" player in this series.

Dame Time came in the third quarter as Lillard went supernova on the Nuggets with dagger after dagger from deep.

Lillard was reminded after the game that he's never played in a Game 7 in his career. It is extremely hard to lock down a player of his caliber, but the Nuggets were doing the best that they could to limit the four-time All-Star from having one of those games.
