Trump gives Pelosi reasons to impeach: Darcy cartoon

Shortly after Pelosi's comments, Trump held an impromptu press conference at the White House during which he lashed out at Democratic leaders for pursuing investigations, particularly related to special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe. "I don't do cover-ups", Trump said.

The Donald did not stop there, however.

Silver lining? Pelosi said she would meet with President Trump in the future.

While Trump maintains that he doesn't do cover-ups, many netizens pointed out one well-known "cover-up" in the form of hush money paid to porn star Stormy Daniels, which became public information following his former lawyer Michael Cohen's testimony.

"We had hoped that we could give this president an opportunity to have a signature infrastructure initiative to create jobs, improve the quality of life, to just do so much for our country", Pelosi told reporters. I'd be really good at it, that's what I do.

"I'll respond to the president, not staff", Pelosi said.

She accused Trump of a variety of impeachable offenses, ranging from obstructing the Mueller investigation of his administration to human rights abuses in separating children from their families at the border.

"The House leadership needs to urinate or get off the pot", Kennedy said during Wednesday's floor speech.

Pelosi's decision to accuse Trump of a "cover-up" Thursday infuriated the president, but the speaker emphasized it was not the first time she had suggested his conduct amounted to a cover up, and she claimed she did not intend to provoke Trump into an outburst that has all but ended any fleeting prospect of bipartisanship. "Well, so many stories about the meeting use the Rage narrative anyway - Fake & Corrupt Press!"

"He just took a pass", Pelosi said of Trump. "Now that he was forced to say how he would pay for it, he had to run away".

Hanging over the increasingly personal exchanges is a drumbeat among about two dozen Democrats and one Republican to launch impeachment hearings against Trump based on details in special counsel Robert Mueller's report that Trump repeatedly tried to block the investigation. "And he came up with this pre-planned excuse".

The president claimed it was impossible for him to do his job while at the same time being investigated.

Pelosi and Schumer said political theater was at play before they had even arrived at the White House. "But if so, that's a judgment we have to make".

Trump chose to implode, in three minutes, an infrastructure meeting with Democrats that was meant to discuss Trump's ideas to pay for the $2 trillion plan he had agreed to previously.
