The two met at a women-in-television dinner, where they bonded over their mutual desire to "change the narrative".

In audio of the interview posted on the newspaper's website, Mr Trump discusses the upcoming state visit, his second meeting with Queen Elizabeth II and the Trump family members who are tagging along on the trip.

But Chopra, 36 - who recently quashed talk that she and Markle were feuding - observed that the latter remains just as grounded as she was before she got hitched in May previous year.

The President was full of praise for the 93-year-old monarch closing his remarks during the evening saying, "On behalf of all Americans I offer a toast to the eternal friendship of our people, the vitality of our nations and truly remarkable reign of Her Majesty The Queen".

"I didn't know that", Trump said when told of the comments. "Now she's got a real platform, she talks about the same things she always did", the "Isn't It Romantic" star added.

The source said the singer didn't remember much of the interaction until she hit the headlines with her Royal relationship. Trump also recently said former Foreign Minister Boris Johnson would make an "excellent" replacement for Prime Minister Theresa May, who is set to leave office at the end of the week after resigning over her failure to pass a Brexit deal in Parliament.

The friends got together at the historic Churchill War Rooms to discuss all things Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and the Royals. Meghan made the comments during her appearance on The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore in May 2016, and she also called him "divisive" and "misogynistic".

Mr Trump, in fact, did use the word "nasty" to describe Meghan when asked about her comments about him during the 2016 campaign. "It seemed a little unjust, she hasn't done anything except live her life - she's a really kind, intelligent woman". "She'll be very good. I hope she does".

During the interview, Phillip Schofield joked: 'You've been texting Meghan?'

"She was nasty to me", Trump defended. "But the beauty of Meg is that she's been herself through all of this", says the actress. "I think he's great".

Priyanka has denied reports she visited Meghan and royal baby Archie Harrison last week.
