Ranking for Third Year in a Row

For the third consecutive year, the U.S. News and World Report (USNWR) has ranked Emory No. 21 among national universities in its "Best Colleges" ranking. Princeton University was No. 1 and Harvard University was No. 2.

The other universities in Ohio to make the liberal arts category are Kenyon College at No. 27, Denison University at No. 43, Ohio Wesleyan University at No.92 and Wittenburg University at No. 160. The University of South Carolina Upstate ranked No. 1 for best public Southern regional college and No. 1 among public Southern regional colleges for Top Performers on Social Mobility. In 2012, when the news broke, the school was ranked the ninth-best liberal arts college by U.S. News.

Pitt is ranked 18th with Florida State, Penn State and Purdue universities after being No. 26 in the magazine's previous ranking.

"You can talk about student success but to achieve a four-year graduation rate that is the best in the state of Florida and one of the best in America, you have to use your resources for counseling, for advisers, for giving students the opportunity to understand the right pathway to get their degree in four years", Thrasher said. More interesting perhaps, is the ranking for the best engineering colleges and the most innovative schools.

UB also jumped to No. 110 out of 801 total USA universities, ten spots ahead of their ranking in 2019.

In mid-May, Florida held the number-one spot in the U.S. News ranking for higher education.

The College of Staten Island, Willowbrook, ranked between the 129th and 170th range of regional universities in the northeastern United States. Standford came in second, followed by The University of California-Berkeley in third place.

UCLA consistently performs well in a broad range of national and global rankings.

In addition, UF's undergraduate business programs saw a significant rise from No. 30 last year to No. 22 this year.

Vanderbilt also appeared among the top 20 universities in other U.S. News rankings this year, including Learning Communities (No. 16), Service Learning (No. 16) and Best Undergraduate Teaching (No. 20).

Fresno State also ranked No. 6 for having the least amount of debt among public universities.

Cal Poly's undergraduate engineering program is a clear victor.

Several programs contributed to the university's top ranking in first-year student experience.

Best Colleges Rankings evaluate each institution across 15 measures of academic quality, including the percentage of full-time faculty and financial resources per student.
