Phoebe Waller-Bridge, 34, looked incredible at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles last night.

She appeared visibly stunned on stage after denying Louis-Dreyfus a fairytale farewell.

Picking up the actress prize, she exclaimed: "No!" "I'm usually I'm a big fan of "write what you know", but in this case it wasn't so on the nose", she said.

She said: "I kind of was just like, 'Oh guys, this isn't the time". Most noticeably, the King of Westeros himself was M.I.A. "I mean, it's so exciting". "Our little gang is so little, but there was so much heart in it and gratitude and love".

Earlier this year, Comer won the equivalent prize at the BAFTA TV Awards for her brilliant, multi-faceted performance as Villanelle.

Borstein dedicated her Emmy to the women of the show, grandparents, immigrants, Holocaust survivors and asked women to "So step out of line, ladies". He won in the Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series category for the Reparations episode, which opened the crime drama's second season.

Saturday Night Live has won the Best Variety Sketch Series.

The auditorium erupted in cheers when Jharrel Jerome of "When They See Us", the Netflix drama about the Central Park Five case, won the best actor award for a limited series movie.

The cast of Game of Thrones - or the 10 who were nominated for awards, anyway - took to the stage en masse at this afternoon's Emmy awards ceremony to a standing ovation from the star-studded audience. From shock snubs to surprise wins, the 2019 Emmys will go down as one of the most stacked - and surprising - ceremonies in the show's history.

As she accepted the final award, for Outstanding Comedy Series, the British writer, director and actress told the crowd: "This is just getting ridiculous".

A fourth would put it in hallowed company alongside Hill Street Blues, LA Law, The West Wing and Mad Men. Gwendoline Christie, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams were also shut out in the supporting actress category.

Comer is still an up-and-comer, and ever since Killing Eve arrived on the small screen in 2018, she has proven herself as a star on the rise.

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
