Kanye West Announces A New Album 'Jesus Is Born' Dropping On Christmas

Tuesday, 29 Oct, 2019

West debuted his gospel-inspired ninth solo album and accompanying IMAX film almost a month after the album's original release date.

From the sounds of it, West has some plans up his sleeves.

Then came 808s' follow-up in 2010, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

"So excited to announce my third fragrance, Destiny!" Hundreds of people, who had waited up all night, took to social media to complain about what seemed like yet another delayed album release.

Around noon on Friday, American time, Jesus Is King, his ninth LP, finally appeared on streaming services, and fan reactions have been rolling in. As with 808s, it finds West exploring new sonic territory, here in the form of the black gospel tradition - more on that later. After the concert he went ahead and premiered Sunday Services in NY on September 29, Washington DC on October 12 and overseas in Jamaica on October 12. When it didn't drop on the expected date - September 27 - West continued to string fans along.

"I got incredible gifts from my whole family and Kanye for me the most unbelievable bags". "Kanye West found God and people call that falling off", she wrote alongside an eye roll emoji. One quote: "I have now given my life to Jesus Christ, and I work for God".

West, a multiple Grammy Award victor, is one of the most successful and influential artists of the 21st century.

As for the new music, the album itself features lyrics about Christians being the one to judge Kanye the most for creating a gospel album and a Sunday Service church experience. The Chicago rapper last released a full album, ye, in 2018. The traveling a lot does set it off, so he doesn't travel as much as he used to.

Megan Colligan, president of Imax Entertainment, said that with "Jesus Is King", the company is exploring unconventional ways of creating exclusive events and experiences in their theaters. But Kimmel still carved seven minutes out of the show to talk to West about Jesus Is King. I bet that makes you feel a little better about that uni assignment that's due on Monday, doesn't it? Being on medication is not really an option, because it just changes who he is. He is reportedly never going to perform secular music again and will exclusively focus on gospels.

In West's track "Oh God", he raps about providing for his famous family, "That's why I charge the prices that I charge/ I can't be out here dancin' with the stars". "I don't know, I'm just going to see", Kylie said.
