Inter Milan have signed former England worldwide Ashley Young from Manchester United on a six month contract, the Serie A club said on Friday.
Young has been with Manchester United since 2011, having signed from Aston Villa and has made 261 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and winning numerous trophies in the process.
As an England global, the 34-year-old also earned 39 caps for the Three Lions, contributing 7 goals.
Young is set to become the third player to move from Old Trafford to the San Siro club in the space of under six months, following Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez's transfers previous year.
Inter, who signed striker Romelu Lukaku from Old Trafford last August and also secured a loan deal for United forward Alexis Sanchez, are two points behind Serie A leaders Juventus.
Solskjaer has praised the 34-year-old for his contribution over eight-and-a-half years and wishes him well in a new challenge at San Siro. But we've got players coming through. Thanks to your fortify all through the highs and the lows.
The fullback can become the third English player to play for Inter after Gerry Hitchens and Paul Ince. He's come in and everything about him tells me he's a leader.
"We played a draw against Liverpool and won against City, which are now the best teams in the Premier League".
Then he added a second post with a picture of himself among the United fans, along with the headline: "To the United fans: every time I ran your shirt on the pitch, I did my best".
Young further stated that he wants to help the club reach its objective and win a lot of trophies. "We got a transfer fee for someone who has been so loyal to the club".
