A New James Bond Game Will Tell 007's Origin Story

Friday, 20 Nov, 2020

Having been absent from video games since 2012's 007 Legends, the Hitman developer is taking on James Bond.

IO Interactive tags this as their next game, which means that we'll be getting a new title from the studio after Hitman 3 makes its way out next year!

The developers of Hitman seem like a flawless match for the James Bond character, who's been the subject of several hit video games through the years. As players take control of Bond, it will be up to them to earn the iconic numeric moniker that Bond would become famous for. The Project 007 site adds that you will "step into the shoes of the world's favourite Secret Agent". Well IO Interactive's work on the Hitman games was fantastic and really captured what it's like to be a deadly spy who is adept at firefights and being stealthy.

Meanwhile, the 25th James Bond movie, No Time to Die, is now scheduled to open in theaters on April 2, 2021.

IO Interactive had put in a Twitter post that the were going to reveal something special and that is an official James Bond game.

Don't expect to see this title anytime soon, as the project's main website is still posting an offering for positions within the site looking for "elite talent" to help complete Project 007, implying that it's still in early development.

IO Interactive recently teased that it would be revealing its next all-new project today, and when the time came and the trailer finally dropped, we were treated to an iconic view down the barrel of a gun. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with unsafe new technology.
