So OnePlus has finally jumped into things and announced the OnePlus TV for real at a launch event in India. There is a 256GB model in other countries, you just won't find it in the US.

After Kopec said that, he announced that that was all the news he had on Oxygen OS updates and exited the stage.

Xiaomi has been releasing TVs in China since 2013 and the sets are starting to spread across the globe, much like the brand's phones.

OnePlus has yet to announce a US release date for either models, but that's definitely on the cards. The only exception is the Speakers.

It comes with HDR10+ support and an ultra-wide 20:9 aspect ratio that's ideal for consuming movies and Netflix content. OnePlus has always been a refreshing change of pace in the top tier smartphone sweepstakes.

The television comes with a sleek minimalist design with a almost bezel-less screen and a moving soundbar. Q1 Pro also features matte-finish on the soundbar that integrates seamlessly with the mesh fabric.

The TV software is also filled with different algorithms to improve everything from noise reduction, colour enhancement, and "Motion Estimate and Motion Compensation" that adds extra frames to your videos to up the frame-rate from 24 or 30 frames per second all the way up to 60fps And there's Dolby Vision HDR, which is widely accepted as one of the better HDR standards that are all vying for control.

OnePlus TV houses a powerful Gamma Color Magic chipset to help with picture processing and rendering. The Pro model is also the only model that'll ship with a stand. The audio is powered by Dolby Atmos to be able to offer a cinematic sound experience. And if the OnePlus 7T has the Snapdragon 855+ then the Pro will get it too.

After teasing the launch of its smart TV and revealing little bits of information about the device for weeks, OnePlus officially unveiled the OnePlus TV on Thursday. The televisions offer OnePlus TypeSync function.

A soundbar separates the OnePlus TV Q1 and the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro, and this is no ordinary soundbar - particularly for what should be a sub-£2000 TV.

OnePlus didn't give away a lot of details about the service at the event, basically only teasing its arrival, but the company did mention that OnePlus Pay will make its debut next year, i.e, 2020. The TV is also accompanied by a remote which again connects to a Type-C port for charging. So you can get right up to your food, jewelry, or what have you for a really up close shot. As for the connectivity, users will have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, and USB.

We expect the OnePlus 55 Q1 Pro to cost around £1100 but now, there is no official word on availability outside of India, so we will have to wait and see if OnePlus is preparing to release this TV over here in the UK.
