August 17, 2017 Cook voices opposition to Trump for blaming white nationalists and anti-racism activists equally for violence in Virginia.

Trump has earlier said that United States meant to deploy 5G services rapidly and plans to cooperate with "like-minded nations" to promote security in next-generation 5G networks. "It sort of helps people make a decision to come in".

Amidst an internet riot surrounding President Trump's visit to Apple's Mac Pro Manufacturing facility, and his subsequent claim that he had "opened" the plant, it seems the star of the show, the Mac Pro, actually missed out altogether.

Trump said Wednesday he was "looking at" the possibility of exempting Apple from the tariffs - an issue Cook has raised with the president before. And Mac Pro units are now in production in Austin, Texas and will soon ship to customers across the Americas.

Trump has directly referenced Cook on Twitter before.

Apple Inc said on Wednesday it had started construction of a new campus in Austin, Texas, beside its existing facility where it makes the new MacBook Pro laptops. Apple plans to host 5,000 employees with the capacity of up to 15,000.

"The nice part here is you don't have to worry about tariffs".

Rounding up the visit at the Apple facility Trump also hinted tariff relief to the tech giant.

Over $1 billion from Apple's $5 billion Advanced Manufacturing Fund has already been invested in American companies to foster innovation and growth in the USA manufacturing sector. And Apple and its manufacturing partners invested over $200 million in the Mac Pro facility in Austin. Yes, that's the same Huawei considered to be a national security threat which is why Trump banned the Chinese manufacturer from accessing supplies from the states.

"We'll look into that", Trump said when asked about a tariff exemption for Apple.

Cook may not believe in lobbyists, but Apple has spent $5.5 million on lobbying in the United States this year, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

July 25, 2017 "I spoke to (Cook), he's promised me three big plants-big, big, big", the Wall Street Journal quotes Trump as saying.

Cook led Trump, along with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and senior adviser Ivanka Trump, on a tour of the plant.

Meantime, the House conducted business Wednesday, passing legislation supporting Hong Kong protesters, and its impeachment hearings continued into the evening, after Trump falsely said Pelosi shut Congress.
