Borderlands 3 'Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot' DLC Coming in December

Saturday, 23 Nov, 2019

Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot will be the first of a planned four campaign DLCs for Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 3 will be receiving its first campaign DLC on December 19th. This new permanent addition to Borderlands 3 is designed for squads of players who've completed the main story campaign, so expect a serious challenge. Still don't have the game?

Announced alongside the first DLC pack for the game, a free PS4 trial begins today - that's the 21st November - lasting through to the 24th November.

After much speculation, it seems that Borderlands 3 players will be heading to The Handsome Jackpot, a casino space station Jack built before his death. The enemies and loot aboard the station will scale to your Vault Hunter's level, ensuring that the casino heist missions and new Crew Challenges are suitably hard and rewarding. Mad Moxxi is the headliner for Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, which is set to make its debut in-game starting December 19. You will also get to try out all four of the Vault Hunters: FL4K, Zane, Moze, and Amara.

Gearbox mentions that Moxxi's Heist of The Handsome Jackpot is tuned for characters who are at least level 13, though it will automatically scale up so that higher level players can find a challenge and the appropriate loot. The update includes a new Mayhem 4 difficulty level and a raid-like event called Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite. In order to access the free weekend however, you must either be a PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold / Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member.

Players will notice overall UI performance improvements. Developer Gearbox Software is opening the doors wide, letting anyone on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 play the loot shooter for free. Staying on Mayhem Gearbox has confirmed it is working on Mayhem 2.0 which will add new modifiers, playlists, and levels.

Released in September, Borderlands 3 was strongly criticized ahead of its release following the announcement of the exclusive deal with Epic Games on PC.
