Trump impeachment: New documents show contacts between Rudy Giuliani and Mike Pompeo

Kennedy's comments come two days after his fellow Republican senator, Lindsey Graham of SC, sent a letter Thursday to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo requesting the release of any documents related to contacts between Biden, his son and Poroshenko.

The documents were released to the non-partisan watchdog group American Oversight as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit for State Department Ukraine records. They show that Pompeo talked with Giuliani on March 26 and March 29. "It reveals a clear paper trail from Rudy Giuliani to the Oval Office to Secretary Pompeo to facilitate Giuliani's smear campaign against a USA ambassador".

That probe is focused on whether Trump withheld military aid and a White House meeting from Ukraine to force its government into launching investigations into the Bidens and alleged interference in the 2016 election.

She was withdrawn from her post in Ukraine in May. The group, according to Bondy, was convened by Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal attorney, and included Parnas, his business associate Igor Fruman, as well as journalist John Solomon and the married legal team of Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing.

In response, Mr. Giuliani said, he had someone hand-deliver to Mr. Pompeo's office an envelope containing a series of memos detailing claims made by a pair of Ukrainian prosecutors in interviews conducted by Mr. Giuliani and his associates in January. Hunter served on the board of a Ukrainian energy company Burisma while his father worked on Ukraine policy during the Obama administration.

"We can see why Mike Pompeo has refused to release this information to Congress", Evers said in a statement.

Giuliani allowed that he did introduce the two men to Trump at a Hanukkah party in December of 2018.

"Devin Nunes says he didn't meet with Shokin".

"They took a one-minute picture".

Federal prosecutors in NY are investigating the business dealings of Giuliani, including whether he failed to register as a foreign agent, according to people familiar with the probe.

Giuliani, appearing on Fox News on Saturday, also said he didn't believe that Nunes met with Shokin.

"Do you think I'm afraid".

"And because this is criminal in nature and because it is so bad, so slanderous, we've got all the facts on her side and we are going to file in federal court because I'm not going to sit here and try to compete against the media that I have no chance of winning this". Although Sondland said that Giuliani "was expressing the desires of the President of the United States", Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colo., suggested to reporters outside the hearing room that if Giuliani was "off on his own mission doing things that people didn't know about, kind of like a loose cannon, then that's a Rudy Giuliani thing, that's not a President Trump thing".

Appearing on "America's News GQ" Saturday morning, Giuliani said that despite widespread reports of his impending legal peril, he was not the least bit anxious about the prospect of being indicted.

Bondy also said that Parnas had "hard" evidence that proved he met with Trump in order to directly discuss the desired Ukrainian investigations into Biden and his son Hunter.
