Trump campaign hits Joe Biden for 'double standard' with Tara Reade

"It can't appear that she's being ignored just because it's an inconvenient truth for certain people in the Democratic Party", said Nina Turner, who was national campaign co-chair for the presidential campaign of Senator Bernie Sanders, who dropped out of the Democratic race and endorsed Mr Biden.

Former Vice-President Biden is the presumptive Democratic candidate to face Republican President Donald Trump this November, as all other Democratic candidates have suspended their campaigns.

Biden grew frustrated as Brzezinski pressed him on why a search, even an online word search, couldn't be conducted of his Senate records to see if there were any records of Reade, but Biden said, "There is nothing. I know all about false accusations", he added.

'Through that entire process, the name Tara Reade never came up.

Biden added that "there is only one place a complaint of this kind could be - the National Archives".

CNN has spoken with Reade, her former neighbor, a friend of hers at the time, and her brother regarding the allegation. But he said he does not 'question her motive.' He said over his five decades in public life, none of his employees was asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement.

"I remember talking about him wanting me to serve drinks because he liked my legs and thought I was pretty and it made me uncomfortable", Reade said in an interview Friday with The Associated Press. Reade's story regained attention over the past week after two of her acquaintances said she had shared details of her allegation with them.

The university hasn't responded to multiple requests for information from The Epoch Times.

Two of Reade's associates said publicly this past week that Reade had conversations with them that they said corroborated aspects of her allegation.

Ms Reade was one of eight women who previous year came forward to say Mr Biden had hugged, kissed or touched them in ways that made them uncomfortable, though none accused him of sexual assault. Several of them, though, said the behavior was not sexual in nature.

On Friday, Reade said she was referring to having "chickened out" by not filing full harassment or assault allegations against Biden.

While the Biden campaign has unequivocally denied Reade's allegation through a statement from deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield, Biden himself has not addressed it until now. Take a look. this a fine man.

"I have complete respect for the whole #MeToo movement. I have four daughters, one son, and there is a lot of excitement around the idea that women will be heard and be listened to", House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Thursday when asked about the allegation.

Hill, long critical of how Biden handled her accusations against Thomas, issued a statement highlighting the complexities across the political spectrum.

At the time of the women's statements a year ago about behaviour that made them uncomfortable, Biden, who had yet to launch his presidential bid, released a video promising to be "much more mindful" of people's personal space.

He said he believes that his accuser, Tara Reade, never filed any sort of complaint about him.

Biden responded, "Because the material in the University of DE has no personnel files, but it does have a lot of confidential conversations that I had with the president about a particular issue, that I had with the heads of state of other places, that that would not be something that would be revealed while I was in public office or while I was seeking public office".

"You know it could be false accusations. I've been falsely charged numerous times, and there is such a thing", Trump said during remarks at the White House.
