Aesthetic iOS 14 home screens that'll inspire you to customize your iPhone

Premium versions add extra features and cost $1.99 and $19.99.

The idea of changing your app icons is an exciting one, and it is possible in iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, but there are some limitations that users should be aware of. Microsoft's Outlook can already be selected as the default mail client, as can Basecamp-created email service Hey. When you click on any app links, it will open in this browser instead of Safari. The Widgetsmith and Colour Widgets apps have some pre-set options for things like your reminders, activity, calendars, date and time, and photos that you can edit the colour and font schemes for.

Technically speaking, the app icons you create won't be truly transparent as the app icons will be solid images.

Got all the above?

Under the Actions heading, tap "Open App".

Within the Scripting element, tap Choose. As we really want to do that, you have to tap on it to proceed. To do this (which is new to iOS 15), long-press on the app then tap Remove App, then Move to App Library.

On the Details screen, tap "Add to Home Screen".

In the pop-up menu, tap "Choose Photo".

Double and triple "back taps" can also be used to control features like volume control, Siri, magnifying and scrolling - and honestly, we feel like we've seen the future. Next, tap the "New Shortcut" text next to it to name the shortcut. This makes it more hard for a consumer who wants to compare the rankings of all top apps offering homescreen customization functionality in one place. Once this is done, hit the three dot button and select Add to Home Screen.

Return to the home screen.

It's enough to just tap the app that you want to use as default and then that's pretty much it. The big change is that messages can show full-screen effects when you send greetings in 22 Indian languages.

The new shortcut will appear on your home screen and function as intended, yet with an unavoidable downside: tapping the shortcut will first briefly launch the Shortcuts app for half a second or so, and only then lead you to the desired destination. It will scan apps internally so it will be able to pick up music whether you're playing it out loud or through headphones. You can now easily do so on apps like Twitter and WhatsApp.

In other words, all this isn't a ideal solution-still, it's a fun one, and people are obviously having a blast doing it and sharing the results on social media.
