AstraZeneca Says Its Vaccine Likely Works Against New Variant

Across the world the countries are making efforts to start vaccination for Covid-19. "34 million Pfizer vaccines will arrive in 2021; 77.4 million from Astra Zeneca; 35 million from Cansino; 51.5 million from Covax", Ramirez said on Twitter on Sunday. Almost 600,000 of the country's most vulnerable people have been vaccinated since last month. They are not intended and should not be thought to represent official ideas, attitudes, or policies of any agency or institution. "Parcare Community Health Network has a long history of partnering with the City of NY to provide vital healthcare services to New Yorkers who need them most - including providing COVID-19 testing".

He has raised hopes that the jabs are more effective than first thought and should be effective against a new variant of the coronavirus that is now causing havoc in most parts of the UK.

Hospitals in the United Kingdom are increasingly strained as the country recorded more than 30,000 positive COVID-19 tests and 316 deaths from the virus on Sunday, bringing its death toll to 70,752.

Yet there is also a disadvantage - the data from the Oxford/AstraZeneca trial has not been as clear as the data from the Pfizer one, which is most likely why approval has been delayed. The Pfizer vaccine has already rolled out across the country.

On December 14, 2020, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced that the country's rollout of COVID-19 vaccines would be free for all Singaporeans.

A "minor logistical issue" meant some vaccine deliveries were "rescheduled", Pfizer spokesman Andrew Widger said, but insisted the problems had been "resolved".

US cases have been surging at an alarming rate in recent months.

Today, the European Commission adopted a package of €70 million under the Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA II) to help fund the access of Western Balkans partners to COVID-19 vaccines procured by EU Member States.

President Trump agreed to sign the latest COVID-19 relief bill at the last minute on Sunday. Boris Johnson earlier stated that around 800,000 vaccinations had been administered across the country so far.

While the USA has also begun vaccinations, top government scientist Anthony Fauci warned Sunday that the worst of the pandemic may be yet to come, driving the country to a "critical point" as holiday travel spreads the coronavirus. This would have to be escalated to thousands per day once the general population starts to be vaccinated, said the Malta Medical Association.

But there are worries over vaccine hesitancy or outright refusal among the public - especially because of anti-vaccine misinformation campaigns. "We strongly encourage all persons who are medically eligible to be vaccinated when the vaccine is made available to them", said Chairman of the expert committee, Associate Professor Benjamin Ong.

This was a hard year due to the Covid-19.
